AN INDEPENDENT PROJECT
About MindLab HQ
MindLab HQ explores what artificial intelligence means for minds, power, ethics, creativity, and everyday human life. Founded by Gordon Snow, it brings philosophical inquiry into conversation with emerging technology through essays, books, video courses, thought experiments, and creative work.
Gordon Snow, Ph.D.
Philosopher · Educator · Artist
Gordon Snow is a professor of philosophy at Hilbert College and a Fellow of the Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy of mind and brings more than three decades of college teaching to questions about intelligence, consciousness, responsibility, and human flourishing.
His teaching spans philosophy of mind, AI ethics, conflict and cooperation, the history of ideas, environmental ethics, and aesthetics. MindLab HQ develops these longstanding interests for the age of AI.
Thinking through making
Gordon’s work also includes music released under the name Wil Gordon and creative projects made with AI. These projects give practical substance to philosophical questions about creativity, authorship, artistic judgment, and the relationship between human intention and machine output.
